Victoria Horvat, 91, entered into eternal rest on September 21, 2018 at Villa Saint Francis Catholic Care Center. Vicky was born to Anton and Julia (Kovacic) on April 11, 1927. Services will be held on Thursday, September 27th, at St. John the Baptist Church at 708 No. 4th St in Kansas City, Kansas, with rosary at 9:30 and Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 10 am. Interment at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Vicky attended St. John the Baptist grade school and graduated from Central Business College in 1953. She worked many years in the clerical field and as a legal secretary.
Vicky was a favorite Aunt for many nieces and nephews. She always picked out special, thoughtful gifts. Nieces, nephew and younger cousins, as well, remember many a fun outing with Aunt Vicky, shopping at Christmas time, slumber parties with special treats and activities, and maybe even a bit of mischief. She made many cakes, large bowls of popcorn, and ice cream sundaes as special treats.
The loves of Vickys life were her animals. Her home was a haven for her dogs though the years, a few cats and occasionally, a bunny. She always had a treat in her pocket for her pets.
Vicky was a caregiver. She tended faithfully to her Mother and her sister who suffered from dementia in their later years. She made many trips driving elderly people in the neighborhood to church. After her retirement, she served for 5 years at a caregivers day out program assisting with the care of elderly and handicapped adults.
Vicky was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Tony and Joseph, and sisters Anne Stokes and Agnes Pike. Vicky leaves behind to cherish her memory sister Rose Marie Casey, many nieces, nephews and cousins and kittens Kiki and Pounce. The family would like to express grateful thanks to the staff of Villa Saint Francis and Catholic Community Hospice for their excellent care.
Vicky was very devout. There is no doubt she is in glory, enjoying her heavenly reward. May eternal rest grant unto her, oh Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon her. May her soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen.
