Steven George Gardner, 63, of Kansas City, KS passed away Wed., Feb. 18, 2015. The Funeral Mass will be Mon., Feb. 23 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1086 N. 94th St., KC,KS. with burial following at Leavenworth National Cemetery. Visitation will be3:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, Feb. 22 at Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N.6th St.,KC,KS with the Rosary at 4:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the Kaw Valley Children's Center.
Steve was born Nov. 4, 1951 to James and Jennie (Goodack) Gardner in KC,KS. He was a graduate of Washington High School, received an Associate Degree from Donnelly College and from there went on to serve his country in the US Navy as an electrical repairman on the USS Hunley during the Vietnam era. After that Steve went on to more education at Benedictine College.
Presently Steve was employed at BPU as an Electrician/Technician. His enjoyments were his family, bow hunting, trapshooting, reading and being outdoors.
He is survived by his beloved wife, of 10 years, Connie L. Gardner; two daughters: Lindsey Winkelbauer and her husband, Nick; and Holly Keith; granddaughter: Sloane Winkelbauer as well as brother, Jerry Gardner and his wife Diane; dear nephew, Jimmy Gardner, and his best four legged buddy, Lucky.
