Sophia P. Kovac

Sophia P. Kovac, 103 of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2023.  Services for Sophia will be Wednesday, March 1, beginning with a Visitation from 9:00AM to 10:00AM and Mass of Christian Burial at following at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 708 N. 4th, KCK. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, KCK.

Sophia was born April 8, 1919, in St. Joseph Missouri to Matthew and Sophia (Grdinovac) Bert. She was blessed with a son, David and to this day they have been there for each other though the tough and good times. Sophia worked at Swift & Company in the Time Office, both at the Kansas City location and St. Joseph location. She retired from the Lanter Company, even after retirement she was always working hard and helping others.

Surviving Sophia is her son David Kovac, and was preceded by her parents, brothers Joseph Bert and John Kalcic; sisters Catherine Malnar and Mary Cade.
