Rose M. (Klemencic) Griffin, 92, K.C.,KS, passed away at Brookdale Shawnee on Sept. 17, 2015. The Funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM Monday, Sept. 21 at Christ the King Catholic Church, 3024 N. 53rd St., K.C.,KS, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Christ the King Church, Sisters, Servants of Mary or Gentiva Hospice.Rose was born Jan.9, 1923 in Croatia to Ivan and Ljuba Klemencic. She came to Kansas City, KS at age seven and lived there the rest of her life. She attended St. John the Baptist Grade School and graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 1941. She married James B. Griffin, Jr. in 1943 at St. John the Baptist Church. They met in high school and were married for 52 years. Jim and Rose were members of Christ the King Church. They enjoyed traveling, with Las Vegas being a favorite destination.Rose worked at North American Bomber Plant and Russell Stover Candies. She was an active member of her church and belonged to WyCo Solo's, Go-Getters, Altar Society, St. Rose Circle, and the Shamrock Club. She was a former volunteer at Providence Medical Center. In addition, Rose was a devoted grandparent to her eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Joseph and her best friend, Irene Horvat.Rose is survived by three daughters and their spouses: Marsha and John Verbanic, Mary and Mike Vrabac, and Barbara and Dennis Lewis; grandchildren: Christina Verbanic, Stephen Verbanic, Michael (Andrea) Verbanic, Laura (Jim) Harris, Sarah (Travis) Sampson, Rebecca (Bradley) Thompson, Jennifer Lewis, Jamie (Michael) Earl; great-grandchildren: Carissa Colboch, Ryan Verbanic, Thomas Verbanic, Joseph Verbanic, Aidan Verbanic, Blaine Harris, Brooke Harris, Oliver Sampson and James Earl.
