Richard was born January 8, 1936 in Kansas City, KS to Nick and Anne (Acinger) Fabac. He attended St. Peters Grade School, Ward High School and Rockhurst College night school graduating in the early 1970s. Richard served in the US Army from 1958-1960 stationed in Germany. While in Germany he ran a small post office and was able to travel throughout Europe and see many great places. He bought his first car while in Europe (VW Beatle) and had it shipped home when he returned to the states. When he returned to the states, he worked for the US Post Office as a mail carrier. He later worked for the IRS as a field auditor. After leaving the IRS he started his own business, Shawnee Mission Accounting & Tax, where he was a tax preparer from the early 80s to 2000. Rich enjoyed bowling and was in a classic bowling league in Kansas City, MO during his early years. He also loved to garden. Trying to grow the largest vegetables. He was an avid sports fan loving the KC Chiefs and Royals. Rich was a longtime member of the St. John the Baptist Mens Club. He had 3 grandchildren that he loved so very much. Every time he saw his grandkids you would see his face light up. Rich was preceded in death by his parents, Nick and Anne Acinger Fabac; an infant brother, James and his sister, Judy. Rich leaves behind his son, James Fabac and wife Lanette Bindel Fabac of San Antonio, TX; his daughter, Pamela Fabac of Shawnee, KS; grandsons, Collin Fabac and wife Lauren YBarra Fabac of San Antonio, TX, and Brandon Fabac of Dallas, TX; granddaughter, Alyssa Fabac of San Antonio, TX. Visitation will be held from 4-7pm Wednesday, December 29th at Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N. 6th St., Kansas City, KS where the rosary will be prayed at 6:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 11311 Johnson Dr., Shawnee, KS. The family suggests memorial contributions to St. Joseph Catholic Church or St. John the Baptist Catholic Club. Family would like to thank Reflection Living and Sharon Lane Health and Rehabilitation.
