Ramona L. Corbin, 83, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Olathe Hospice House after a sudden and brief decline in her health. A Celebration of Ramonas life will be held Tuesday, December 26th from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N. 6th St., KC,KS. Her burial will be at the Iconium Missouri, Cemetery at a date to be announced later. Ramona was born September 6, 1934 in Craig Missouri to Serle and Colene Casteel. In her early years, Ramona worked for the Economic Opportunity Foundation and Crosslines in Kansas City, Kansas. She also spent over 30 years working for U.S. Senators Bob Dole and Pat Roberts as a case worker for their constituents, before retiring in 2012. Ramona loved spending time with her family and close friends. She was an avid gardener, passionately growing a variety of plants and flowers which she proudly displayed throughout her yard. She also enjoyed shopping, attending estate auctions, as well as playing bingo and bunko. Preceding her in death were her husband of 61 years, Bill D. Corbin, her daughter: Callie Louise (Corbin) Kershner; her parents and her sister: Marsha Siemon. She is survived by her daughter and son-in- law: Karla and Rene Schutte of Prairie Village, KS/ Surprise, AZ.; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, two great, great grandchildren; and one brother, Darrell Casteel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Olathe Hospice House, 15310 Marion Street, Olathe, KS 66061. Ramona will be dearly missed by all who came to know and love her.
