Mary Ann Zawatzki

Mary Ann Zawatzki, 98, of Kansas City, Kansas, transitioned to eternal rest on February 13, 2025, at her home. She was born on February 10, 1927, to George and Florence (Stimac) Juresic. She grew up on Strawberry Hill in KCK, attended and graduated from St. John the Baptist School and Ward High School. Mary Ann was a devoted wife for 55 years to husband, John Zawatzki (deceased) and a caring mother to daughter, Mary Kay Zawatzki, her primary caregiver for the last years of her life. She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. In her active years she loved working in the yard, reading, going on daytrips, and making traditional Croatian food during the holidays. Her siblings, brother, Edward Juresic of Andover, KS, and sister, Bernice Graham (deceased) and Angie Kent (deceased) loved to share childhood stories from Strawberry Hill. She is also survived by a niece, Susan Kent of Springdale, AR, and a nephew and his wife, John and Lynette Juresic of Andover, KS, along with many family and friends.

Funeral services will be 10:30am Friday, February 21, 2025, at Gate of Heaven Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, American Heart Association or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
