Martin Louia Mootz, 90, passed away July 5th, 2021 at his home in Roeland Park, Kansas. Visitation will be from 5-7pm, Wednesday, July 14th, 2021 at Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N. 6th Street, Kansas City, Kansas 66101. Graveside services will be 9 a.m., Thursday, July 15th, at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas.
Martin was born June 17th, 1931 to Martin and Mary Mootz in Kansas City, KS. Martin served as a radio operator in the Army during the Korean War. He spent his life providing for five children and his wife, Luella, (who preceded him in death in 2010, and son Glenn A Wills in 2006) by working in various fields and even running his own business for a time. Martin retired from Providence St. Margaret Hospital after working many years there taking care of critical infrastructure to keep the hospital in top shape. He loved to camp and fish in his younger years taking his family out to experience this with him.
He is survived by his sons, Martin L. Mootz, II of Roeland Park, David A Mootz of Roeland Park, and daughters Jean Marie McKimmy of Overland Park and Bonnie Thatcher of Kansas City, Mo.; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; brother Joseph Mootz of Kansas City, KS and sister Helen Emerson of Gardner, KS.
