Madonna Lynn (Ashley) Muder passed away at her home in Olathe on October 18. She was born to Donna and Eugene Ashley on June 5,1955, the middle child between her older brother, Mark, and younger brother, Phillip. According to family lore, Mark thought she was pretty, but his pronunciation came out as “Puddy,” hence her lifelong family nickname. Just to keep things interesting, she used her middle name and was known as Lynn to most.
Lynn attended grade school in KCK at Saint Peter’s Cathedral and then Bishop Ward High School, graduating in 1973. She attended Washburn University for two years and went to work at Oppenheimer Industries prior to her marriage.
Lynn married the incredibly lucky Mark Andrew Muder on July 31st in the American Bicentennial year of 1976. Lynn and Mark moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma as Mark was attending Oklahoma State University at that time. Lynn found a job in the Industrial Engineering department. Life together was off to a great start! Soon they were blessed with the birth of Joshua in July 1977, and Amanda Lynn in May 1983, to round out Lynn’s immediate family.
Lynn and Mark moved back to Kansas City, Kansas in 1980. This was the first of many moves for this little family. Eventually, they made 29 moves in 48 wonderful years of marriage. They lived in Oklahoma, Florida twice, Louisiana, Connecticut, Hawaii, California, Sydney (Australia) twice, Shanghai (China), and numerous locations in both Kansas City and Olathe. After all these moves, Lynn and Mark settled in Olathe for the past 19 years.
Lynn loved her home by Lake Olathe. She made it into a garden spot filled with plants, grandchildren, puppies, and eclectic furnishings from her moves around the world. Her faith was always in the forefront of how she lived and loved those around her. She was a member of Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Gardner, Kansas for eight years prior to her passing.
Lynn leaves her husband Mark; son Joshua and his wife Ann; daughter Amanda and her husband Ronald Aaron Silver; and four grandchildren, Sydney and Jack Muder, and Ronald Atlas and Andromeda Lynn Silver.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests any donations made in Lynn's name to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center or to Wayside Waifs Animal Rescue.
