Kevin Bolend

Kevin Bolend, 68, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at home, surrounded by loving family and friends, from complications of liver cancer.
Kevin was born to Joseph and Mary (Dillman) Bolend on March 21, 1950 in Kansas City, KS. He attended St. Peter Grade School and graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 1969. Kevin worked in the football and reconditioning business for many years and retired from Riddell, Inc. in 2012.
Kevin was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Colleen Randel. He is survived by his wife Valerie and daughter Jenna of the home, a daughter, Allie (Ryan) Trompeter and a son, Joseph (Jasmine) Bolend, a grandson, Landon Bolend. Kevin also leaves behind an aunt and his Godmother, Sister Frances Dillman, C.S.J, four sisters, M. Kathleen (Albert) Spiegelhalter, Connie Wilson, Karen Bolend and Regina Dailey; three brothers, Tom (Janet) Bolend, Mike (Kathi) Bolend and Brendan Bolend; his favorite mother-in-law, Angeline "Grandma Casino" Yadrich, numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews and many good friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Jody Olson and staff, Dr. Raed Al-Rajabi and staff from the University of Kansas Health System for the excellent care they provided for Kevin over the past year. They would also like to thank the staff from the Interventional Radiology Department at Indian Creek who treated Kevin not only with loving care and respect, but also as a good friend.
Visitation will be held from 4-7pm Wednesday, November 14th at Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N. 6th St., Kansas City, KS where the rosary will be prayed at 6:30pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, 274 Orchard, Kansas City, KS 66101. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Tonganoxie, KS.
