Josip Sestric, 85 of Kansas City, KS, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on August 30, 2016 after an extended illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 AM Sat., Sept. 3rd at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 708 N. 4th St., KCKS. Visitation will be from 5-7 PM Friday, Sept. 2nd at Skradski Funeral Home, 340 N. 6th KCKS; where the Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 PM. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven, KCKS.
Josip was born October 24, 1930 in Croatia. He left a humble life in Croatia in 1967 to start a better life in America. He was successful in this endeavor. Josip retired from Tension Envelope in 2005 after 38 years of service. He had many hobbies; gardening, wine making, roasting meats/pecenke and getting together with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Nada, his childhood sweetheart to whom he was married for 67 years, together they had three children; Anne (Ivan) Sambol, John (Ginny) Sestrich, Zdravko (Gerri) Sestric; also 6 grandchildren, 7 step grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
