Josephine C. Loun, 97, passed away Sunday, August 14, 2016 at Victory Hills Senior Living in Kansas City, Kansas. Services will be Thursday, August.18, with Visitation beginning at 9:00 AM, Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM both at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 708 North 4th, KCKS. Burial to follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in KCKS. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church.
Josephine was born Sept. 27, 1918 to Peter and Anna (Soptic) Lucas on Strawberry Hill in Kansas City, Kansas. She was a long term employee of Sealy Mattress Company. Josephine was a loving and caring mother. She taught her grandchildren how to care for one another and be strong enough to stand for what is right.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Howard "Bud" Loun and is the last of six siblings. Surviving her are daughters Patricia & John Schuermann of Camdenton, MO, Sharon & Jack Perry of Shawnee, Ks, Five Grandchildren, Eight Great Grandchildren and Two Great-Great Grandchildren.
