Joseph (Joe) Nick, 92, of Kansas City, Kansas died on Saturday, June 20, 2015 at St. Lukes Hospice House in Kansas City, MO. Services will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 1086 North 94th Street, Kansas City, KS. On Tuesday, June 23rd the Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 pm with visitation from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the church. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 24 at the church. Burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, KS. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to St. Lukes Hospice House.
Joe was born on August 11, 1922 in KCK to John and Lena (Mantel) Nick. He married Dorothy (Camlic) on June 2, 1945 and they raised three sons. Joe worked as a railway carman for almost 40 years. He coached all of his boys in little league baseball, loved watching sports, and as a proud grandpa made every effort to attend all of their activities. He was a devoted family man and believed that family meant everything.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and four siblings. He is survived by his sons, Ron (Rebecca Holland) Tulsa, OK, Jeff (Kim), and Tim (Gina), both of KCK; brother Bob (Dee) and sister Helen Foster. He also leaves his beloved grandchildren Chris, Steve, Sarah, Lexi, Kendall, Jason, and Logan as well as great grandchildren Tyler, Harper, and Allie.
