He put his all into his work as a chemical, automation engineer in the oil business. He worked in a variety of locations, West Texas, the North Slope of Alaska, Algeria, Offshore Abu Dabi, then finally Basra, Iraq. He enjoyed the people of those countries. Joe did his job but liked to think he had a role to help improve conditions. He could recall work experiences until his end. But it was mostly the people he worked with that he recalled the most. He liked and respected them.
Joe retired December 2014. He was looking forward to a well planned retirement, which included a lot of golf. Joe had a terrific memory. He often fondly spoke of his early years growing up with his sister Roseanne and family, their vacations and home, relatives and life around the neighborhood. He also recalled his high school years, mostly his good friends, who after years of lost contact, reached out to Joe during his fight with pancreatic cancer. Joe loved to play golf. But there again, it was his golfing buddies what he really enjoyed. Joe's interest was history of all types; World, American, and Ancient. Joe loved to cook and grill. It must have been the chemist in him. His passion was investing. Not trading, but the study of market related movements, charts, and fundamentals....Joe would start every day with the New York Times Cross Word Puzzle. When he would finish, he would move onto several "Fiendish" Sudoku Puzzles. All of which he enjoyed doing on his patio with his cockatiel "Pretty Bird" on his knee or shoulder during any kind of weather. Mostly Joe loved being outdoors, golf, grilling, swimming, fishing, hunting with his brother-in-laws or just hanging outside. Part of Joe's retirement plans were to "give back", to help others, like the kindness, and guidance the was he was given. He was proceeded in death by parents, Joseph Adam and Rosemarie (Mahoney) Bukaty, SR. He is survived by his loving wife Christina (Stupica) Bukaty, his sister Roseanne Becker, her son Jack (Lindsey) Becker and their 3 children. Brother-in-laws Michael Stupica and John (Carol) Stupica and children Aaron and Kristen Stupica and Kimberly (Michael) Dobbs and their son Finn. GOD BLESS JOE!
