John Keuchel, 87 of Overland Park, Kansas died on Thursday, April 28, 2016, at Overland Park Rehab in Overland Park, Kansas. Visitation will be held 9:30-10:30 AM Thursday, May 5th followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at Christ the King Church 3024 N. 53rd St. KCKS. Inurnment following in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum, KCKS.
John was born March 5, 1929 in KCK to John and Elda (Nolan) Keuchel. Married the love of his life Marguerite Sittenauer Keuchel in 1951. He loved his family, fishing with his wife, wood working, and he was proud to help build the St. Andrews Catholic Church in Yellville, Arkansas. He served over 20 years on the Peel Volunteer Fire Department.
John was a 1947 graduate of Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kansas and was a Realtor and Appraiser in Kansas City for several years before retiring and moving to Peel, Arkansas in 1984 where he could spend his free time fishing on Bull Shoals Lake.
Preceding him in death were his parents, wife and brother, Robert. Surviving are son, William (Kay) Keuchel, Belton, MO; daughters, Marie (John) Link, Olathe, Ks, Susan (John) Phillips. KCK, and Patricia (Casey) Dumovich-Johnson, Shawnee, KS; sister-in-law Nina Keuchel; 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Kansas City Hospice.
