James A. Slonka

James A. Slonka, 75, passed away November 2, 2018 at home surrounded by family and his little buddy "Poppy Seed". Visitation will be held from 9-11:00 am Friday, November 9th at St. Patrick Church, 1086 N. 94th St., Kansas City, KS where the rosary will be prayed at 10:45 am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, KCK. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to St. Patrick Church.
James was born October 19, 1943 in Kansas City, KS to Adam S. and Clara (Kustra) Slonka. He was a 1962 graduate of Bishop Ward High School. James served in the US Coast Guard and worked as a lead field serviceman for BPU for 40 years retiring in 2005.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dolores M. (Washick) Slonka; a brother, Dr. Gerald Slonka; nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Slonka.
