Irene F. Franano 92, passed away Sunday, May 31, 2015 at Villages of Jackson Creek in Independence, MO. The Funeral Mass will be at 10:15 AM Thursday, June 4 at St. Therese Catholic Church, 7207 NW Highway 9, Kansas City, MO 64152, with visitation beginning at 9:30 AM at the church. Inurnment to follow at Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to St. Therese Church.
Irene was born July 17, 1922 to Walter and Helen (Borowski) Kobzdey in Kansas City, Kansas. On August 17, 1943 she married Vince Franano and to that union was born a son and daughter. Irene was lucky enough to be a stay at home mom and belonged to the Altar & Rosary Society of St. Therese and The Northland Quilting Guild.
She is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Surviving her are son & daughter-in-law: Vince & Vickie Franano Jr., Ramona, CA; daughter & son-in-law: Barbara & Bob Spateholts, Prineville, OR; five grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
