Helen Frances Gorup, 89 of Kansas City, Kansas passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Providence Place in Kansas City, KS. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, October 7, at Cathedral of St. Peter, 409 N 15th Street, KCKS. Visitation at the church from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Burial immediately following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, KCKS. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and/or Strawberry Hill Museum.
Helen was born, May 11, 1926, to Alex and Anna (Holek) Gorsky. She was married on May 12, 1945 to the late Mike Gorup, Jr. Helen was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where she was involved in her childrens PTO, member of the Altar Society and the St. Bernadettes Circle. She and her late husband Mike enjoyed traveling the world. Her hobbies included bingo, collecting Hummels and hand quilting. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren meant the world to her.
She was preceded in death by parents, husband, son, Gregory, daughter, Stephanie, sister, Catherine Gorup. Surviving are daughter, Diane & David Hentges of Kansas City, KS, son, Paul & Kathy Gorup, brother, Albert Gorsky, sister, Judith Gorsky. Eight Grandchildren; Heidi (Joshua) Stigers, Jenny Gorup, Matthew (Kim) Hentges, Joseph (Lacey) Gorup, Eileen (Nic) Madelen, Steven (Star) Gorup, Michael and Ryan Gorup.
