Frank "Chic" A. Labesky, 93, passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 peacefully at his home with Encompass Hospice in Kansas City, Kansas. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 6th at Holy Family Catholic Church, 274 Orchard, Kansas City, KS at 10:30 am. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30-10:30 AM. Burial will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, KS. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials to Holy Family Club.
Frank was born November 20, 1922 to August & Rose (Hiryk) Lebiecki in Kansas City, KS. He married the love of his life Frances Zager, Oct. 28, 1944. Frank was the last Marine from A Company, 2nd Battalion, he joins his 27 brothers in arms. He was awarded a Purple Heart from wounds he received at the battle of Saipan in WWII. Frank was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Holy Name Society, Social Club, and the Don Lipovac & Brian McCarty booster clubs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife; sister, Helen Yadrich; brothers, Anthony and Bernard "Bronco" Labesky; great grandson, Jayden Pearcy; great grand-daughter, Kalli Welch. Surviving him are his children; George (Mary) Labesky, CO., Janice Labesky (Santiago),KCK, David Labesky, CO, Debbie Dawson (Mike), KS; Eleven grandchildren and Nineteen great grandchildren.
