Floyd M. Soptic, 86, of Kansas City, Kansas passed away April 15, 2021 at Kansas City Hospice House. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, April 22, at 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 708 N. 4th, Kansas City, Kansas with burial following at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Kansas City, Kansas. In lieu of flowers donations made be made to St. John Catholic Club.
Floyd was born May 13, 1934 in Kansas City, Kansas to Joseph and Mary (Bros) Soptic. He was a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Kansas. Floyd served in the US Army. He was a self-employed carpenter for years then became a valued employee of Carpet Corners in the Metropolitan Area. Floyd belonged to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, where he was a vital member helping with services for all Masses and fixing many structural problems at the Church, the Church basement and Catholic Club. It was a relief for many to see his white pick-up truck parked in the lot. St. John the Baptist members will miss him dearly.
Surviving Floyd are son, Greg (Linda) Soptic and grandchildren; Daniel (Carla) Soptic and Jennifer (Eric) Wynne, great-granddaughter Hannah Soptic, two sisters; Norma Uziel and Dolores Schwind. Preceding him are his parents and brothers, Joseph and Frank, sisters; Louise Ordway, Mary Driver and Josephine Reddy.
