Born 10/23/27 in Cleveland, Ohio to Yugoslavian immigrants, John & Danica Rayokovich, Donna began her journey on this Earth. She was blessed with an intellectual capacity that would serve her well in life. She graduated Maxima Cum Laude from Holy Name High School, which awarded her with a full scholarship to Mt. St. Joseph Scholastica College of Ohio. She was the only one of her siblings to attend college. She continued her academic excellence graduating Suma Cum Laude. Donna began her career working for Merrill Lynch in Cleveland, Ohio. As she grew into adulthood, she and her younger sister Martha (Marty) travelled quite a bit, pimarily on the East Coast, enjoying New York City, Martha's Vineyard, Niagara Falls & Canada to name a few. During one of those trips, this one in St. Louis, Mo., she would meet her husband Joseph (Joe) A. Bosilevac, originally from Kansas City, Ks. living and working in Marion, Ohio. Their romance blossomed, they married in Cleveland, Ohio on April 28th, 1962 and made their first home together in Marion, Oh. Once there, Donna began teaching 8th grade girls. She was very appreciative of them when she became pregnant with soon to be daughter Ann Marie - they showered her with gifts. Donna then became a "stay at home" Mom. When Annie was about 2, Joe was transferred to North Miami Beach, Fl. where they lived until they moved to Kansas City in November of 1968. Since Donna had several siblings, they decided to move to Kansas City because Joe was an only child - as Annie turned out to be. Donna began teaching at the grade school where her husband and now daughter would attend - St. John the Baptist in Kansas City, Ks. In fact, Annie had 5 of the same teachers (nuns) that her Dad did. Donna would continue teaching there until Ann was a freshman in college (1981) . Joe had passed away June 19th of 1980 and Donna became depressed. Unbeknownst to all, Donna was suffering from Addison's disease for years and was finally diagnosed in the mid to late '80's when she almost died. Once recovered,Donna began working for the Wyandotte/ Leavenworth Area Agency on Aging. She was fortunate enough to get started there with the help of Project ludan (helping women over 55 find employment). She was hired on a full time basis 2 years later and retired at age 80 with 18 years of service.
Donna's faith was always foremost in her life. After her mother-in-law passed away in 1992, Donna volunteered at Providence Medical Center at the Information Desk as a way to thank them for the care her mother-in-law had received. She also attended daily Mass at her parish of Christ the King for many years, often opening the church. The rosary was said at least once daily and she had several prayer books she would read from daily. When she was no longer able to attend daily Mass, she would watch it on EWTN - the only reason she finally got cable television when her sister Marty moved here in 1994. Donna was thrilled to become a grandmother in 1995 and again in 1998 when grandsons Anthony & Michael were born. She actually went outside and played games with them - something daughter Annie was not privy to. Donna's memory began to start fading about 5 years ago and in the last 2 rather significantly. Donna was diagnosed with dementia. A small comfort in seeing this once almost too intelligent person slip away, was her oblivion to it. Sadly, Donna passed from complications with pneumonia on 12/13/16. She will forever be cherished and remembered by all who loved her. Donna was preceded in death by her parents, John & Danica Rayokovich, brothers John, Dan and George Rayokovich; sisters Anne Byrne, Mary Matuska and Martha Posinak. She is survived by daughter Ann M. Rozine (Chris), grandsons Anthony & Michael and an abundance of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins too numerous to list. Visitation will be at Christ the King Church, 3014 N. 53rd Street, Kansas City, Ks. Monday, 12/19/16 between 9:3 - 1: 3AM with Mass immediately following. Burial at Mount Calvary Cementery at 38th & State Avenue, Kansas City. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate any gift made payable to Skradski Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.
