Don Bozich died peacefully in his sleep on Feb. 8, 2021.
He was born May 15, 1941 in Kansas City, Kansas, to Stephen Bozich and Diana (Podrebarac) Bozich.He attended St. John the Baptist elementary school, Ward High School, St. Benedict's (Benedictine) College, and graduated from the University of Kansas with a degree in Architecture.
Don married Patricia Bradish in 1966. They had 4 children. He served in the Air Force Reserves from 1965 to 1971. He worked at Collins Construction, Herman Scharhag Architects, and George Butler Associates.In 1987 he formed his own company, Bozich Architects, and continued working until his passing.
Don loved his family and enjoyed summers with them at the family swimming pool and the family home at the Lake of the Ozarks.He loved to travel, often to Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Key West, Florida. He had a great love of music, especially all things Jerry Lee Lewis, even attending Jerry Lee's birthday partiesat the Lewis Ranch in Nesbit, Mississippi.
He loved Jayhawk Basketball, the Chiefs, and Royals. He took several memorable trips to the Royals spring training camp.He would tackle any project and could fix almost anything.
Don is survived by his wife, Patricia, of the home, daughters Kathleen (Pat) Overcash of Kansas City, MO, and Jessica Bozich (Dave Haynes) of Merriam, KS, sons Adam Bozich of Austin, Texas, and Zachary Bozich of Kansas City, Kansas, one brother Stephen Bozich, and grandchildrenAlison and Andy Overcash.
A socially distanced visitation will be held Saturday, Feb. 13 at 10:00 am at Christ the King Church, 3024 Leavenworth Road, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am.
A celebration of life and inurnment will occur at a later date.
Donations may be made to Bishop Ward High School or Christ the King School.
