David Peresic, 61 was born March 20, 1956 to Peter and Loretta (Craft) Peresic in Kansas City, Kansas. He has a brother Larry Peresic, who is 9 years younger. Dave was raised in the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas and was involved in the Holy Family Catholic Youth Organization, especially participating in baseball and basketball, where his cousins were also players and his father coached.
Dave graduated from Bishop Ward High School in 1974. After graduation he attended and graduated Kansas City Kansas Community College with a degree in Computer Programming. He was employed by the Unified Government of Wyandotte County for 25 years, retiring March 2017.
Dave was fortunate to have a group of buddies from his younger and wilder days who was known to have fun, get into trouble or just sit down and talk about the good old days. Dave bragged about his buddies and would do anything he could for them, as well as they were always a phone call away to help Dave.
Family was Daves foundation for life. He married Wanda March 15, 2003. They have two daughters, Melinda (Mindy) Turnbull and Heather Gattshall. Dave loved being Papa to Kalayla (Lizzy), Emmalynn and Airleigh. Dave would do anything for his family, even being dressed up by his grandbabies.
Dave and Wanda spent their time playing games with each other, family and friends, watching movies and watching and talking KC Royals. When they were not doing that, they spent it with their family.
Dave was passionate about sports; playing basketball and baseball in his younger and healthier days and watching the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals, as well as the Kansas Jayhawks basketball and football teams. He was religious in watching the KU games on TV when his health prevented him from attending the games in person, but did attend the KU Spring Games, missing only once in 20 years. Win or lose, Dave believed if you were a fan, you were a fan for life.
Dave was taken to heaven on January 31, 2018 due to complications from pneumonia. He was preceded by death by his mother and father. Donations can be made to the American Spinal Injury Association (ASIA) or to Edwards Jones to the benefit of the Peresic Family for Daves grandchildrens education fund, as taking care of his girls was very important to him.
Dave will be missed by all. His visitation will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Kansas City, Kansas at 9:00, services followed at 10:00. He will rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas. A luncheon will follow at the church after burial.
