Danny J. Brooks of Punta Gorda, Florida, was born Feb. 8th, 1957, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Donald E & Rose Brooks and died on January 26th, 2024, at Tidewell Hospice House with his loving family by his side. Danny was married to Suzanne for nearly 21 years. Danny was the proud stepfather of Leslie (Joe) Yoest and Eric Serrano. Grandpa Dan will forever live in the hearts of his grandchildren: RJ, Braxton, and Zac Yoest and Marshall, Oscar, and Cora Serrano. He also leaves his brother Don (Sandy) Brooks & his niece Lauren (Tim) Dercher and their children Delaney and Brooks.
Danny graduated from Blessed Sacrament grade school and Bishop Ward High School. He went on to pipefitter apprenticeship school, becoming a journeyman pipefitter in 1978 for 45+ years with the Pipefitters Union 533. He worked at Phillips Petroleum, AD Jacobson, and later became a project manager with P1 Group. He retired for a short period of time, but eventually returned to work at Design Mechanical as a Project Manager in 2015. He retired permanently in 2019 and moved to Florida to live out his dream of warmth, sunshine, and golf.
Visitation and Mass of Christian burial will be held on Feb. 5th at 9am at St. John the Baptist Church 708 N. 4th St., Kansas City, Kansas, 66101.
In lieu of flower, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice – Port Charlotte Hospice House, 1158 Veronica St., Port Charlotte, Florida, 33952. Fond memories and condolences may be left on the Skradski Funeral Home Website.
