Tony Macek, 84, born January 10, 1937 in Kansas City, KS to Victor and Mary (Slanc) Macek. He was one of eleven children. Tony attended Holy Family grade school and graduated from DeLaSalle Military Academy.
Tony was a natural entrepreneur and salesman having owned several businesses, the last being Tire Supply Company. Family, friends and business associates will always remember his phone greeting of "Tony talking". He will be thought of as an honest and fair businessman whose spirit of giving blessed those around him.
Tonys joys were cooking his native Slovenian food for the holidays, making wine, feeding the birds, working in his rose garden and spending time with family.
Tony is survived by his wife Linda of the home, his children MaryEllen Galvan, Scott (Rachel) Macek, Bridget (Joe) Chick, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Matt, John, Joe and his son Tony Jr.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 17th from 9:00 10:00am with Mass following at 10:00am at Holy Family Church 274 Orchard, Kansas City, KS. Memorial contributions can be sent in his honor to St. Judes Childrens Hospital or Shriners Hospital for Children.
