Allen Edward Mothersill

April 19, 1942 — February 24, 2020

Allen Edward Mothersill 77, passed peacefully at his apartment on February 24, 2020 in Lees Summit, MO. He was born on April 19, 1942 and raised by his parents, Harold and Mildred (Foeller) Mothersill in the St. Louis, Missouri area. He graduated from Kirkwood High School in 1960. He was accepted into the prestigious Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, NY. While on shore leave, he met Carolyn Sue Krstolich and they were married shortly after. He graduated from Kings Point in 1965. After graduating Allen and Carolyn owned numerous businesses which contributed to them meeting lifelong friends, Bing and Pat Priest, while residing in Little Rock, AR. Allen and Carolyn fostered quite a few children during their marriage, when God finally lead them to the adoption of their daughter, Leah in 1983. They decided to move back to the Shawnee, KS area to raise their daughter and be close to family. The seasons of his life changed, his marriage to Carolyn came to an end, and Allen moved to Kansas City, MO. His need to be around people led him to join a local singles group, where they met every Saturday to dance. There he met Ledith Taylor, and the two became instant friends. He courted her and before long they married in a small ceremony in Mammoth Springs, AR, August 20, 2005. Together they loved to travel and see sights, go out to eat, and celebrate holidays with family. He remained devoted to Ledith until his very last day. He will be remembered for his great love for God, his family, and Israel. His passion for the personhood of Israel was the theme of most of his life. He learned and studied Hebrew. He worked on a Kibbutz in Israel during the Gulf War, and when he came home started an organization called, Voices United for Israel. Here he met his friend Sam Nachum, with whom he later started a business to import stone from Israel called Jerusalem Stone. The need for supplemental income led him to start a part time career with Pizza Hut, a job he very much enjoyed. The "kids" he worked with at Pizza Hut (Lees Summit) became another family to him. He was an extremely hard and dedicated worker in all facets of his life. He tried to be very philanthropic and make ongoing donations to the charities that were close to his heart. Being away at sea with the Merchant Marines he was able to see much of the world. He also was able to travel throughout the United States in his later years, but his most favorite places to be were Israel, Pizza Hut, or at his home in his chair watching YouTube videos. He recently had begun learning guitar. He was a proud NRA member, Zehut International member, Friend of Zion, and a registered voter. He is preceded in death by his parents Harold and Mildred Mothersill, and his brother-in-law James M. Krstolich. Allen is survived by his wife, Ledith Mothersill of Lees Summit. His daughter Leah Ann Mothersill, Lenexa, KS. His stepsons Mark (Andrea) Taylor, Lone Jack, Mo., and Roger Taylor, Raytown, Mo. His grandchildren, Lilliah Mothersill, and Devin, Alexa, and Mason Taylor. Those close to Allen know his love, caring heart, that hes full of life and lots of laughter. If asked what to put on his epitaph he would say, "Thank God for the State of Israel".
